| | 7.1 mi. We visited the USU campus from just past 2500n. The last half was a gradual down hill and pretty easy compared to the first half which was some fun hills.

Warning: do not let the wife set the alarm clock if you actually want to get up and run before work. Morning: does sprinting from the shower to motorcycle rushing to work count? On the upside, I found that I really do enjoy running in the morning. Lunch: Various calisthenics followed by a 1mile jog, I wasn't supposed to do any because I'm going running with Chris tonight... oh well... Evening: Yay! 4.3mi not as fast as I would've liked though, I was really dragging.
|

Freedom Run 15k (9.3 Miles) 01:28:11
Blacksmith Fork, Not what I wanted but faster than the prep run I did 2 weeks ago by 2.5min. I need to learn to run faster... much faster. Next goal, survive ToU 1/2, how they suckered me into that, I dunno.

Morning: 3.7
Lunch: 2.0 It's amazing how much motivation one can squeeze out of being mad at your boss. if only I had more time at lunch.
|
| |
Morning: 4.2mi Evening: needed to give my knee a break so I went easy on an elliptical for 45min.
|
| | Lunch1 ish... I run with a co worker at lunch most Mon, Wed, and Fri. He's not been one for running much the last 15years so it's slow going but we're getting to the point that I can start claiming a slow mile here and there. |
| |
Morning: Didn't get up when I wanted (4am is really early ok!) so I was only able to run 5.65mi before I had to go to work. Felt pretty good though and the times are coming down slowly but they are coming down. Looking forward to a running the "Deer Fence" trail out by providence tomorrow. Lunch: 1mi Did another run with Jared, I will now call them "Jared runs"
|
| |
morning: Ran the "Deer Fence" trail out from Providence canyon road to Blacksmith Fork Canyon, and then decided that since we were right there anyways we'd run up "The Hill" from the Freedom run. ended up being about 6mi, we didn't time it at all though. We took it kind of easy to avoid injury. Chris provided some pictures of me during the 15k... I will not be uploading any of them as I look like a clown! --- Stopped at "Striders" in Layton and bought some new shoes on our way down to the Temple open house... wife wanted to get her stride analized and get some new shoes, so I did to. Gonna try out some Adidas. Evening: got back and decided to go for a 5.5mi run.
|
| |
Evening: finaly got to go running, don't really know how far, I just know that it was about 54 min and it felt like a 9min pace... so I'm guessing about 6mi. either way, it was nice to get to run again. BOOO at not being able to install google earth on govt. PC's! |
| | Finally got to a location that they would stop worrying about me getting injured and let me run... you'd think the Army would be more flexible when somebody said they wanted to run even though they were in the field. |
| | first 1.75 was around a track doing a set of pushups, situps, pullups, or dips at the end of each .25mi lap. took a 15min break and then decided to finish with a 4.55 mi jog. |
| | 4.0mi... it's a little rough getting back into it. |
| | 7.25mi, A little rough indeed. |
| |
11.5mi in about 1hr 50min. we ran from North Logan down to the temple then along canyon road and back up the hill then finished off with the nice downhill back into North Logan. Garmin said it was 11.5mi, Chris says it felt like 12 so he's saying it was 12, I figure he's starting to finally get tired on our runs but it was only 11.5mi. Oh, talked to another runner today while on canyon road, name of Adrian, seems like a pretty decent feller, he took off after a short chat and a few helpfull suggestions.

ToU 1/2 (13.1 Miles) 01:59:58
I felt pretty good when we took off but I definitely felt the shortage of miles in my training since the 15k fun run after a while. I used three of those GU energy gels for the first time, one each at the 3mi, 6mi, and 9mi water stations and downed a cup of drink (I didn't care what haha) to wash it down. I think they helped but it's hard to say since I was dying anyways. Tried to run through the last aid station and drink the water while running... yeah, not happening so I ended up dumping half on my head (glad that one happened to be water.) We left before I found out what my chip time was but the clock said something like 2:00:30 so I think I was close on my goal of less than 2hrs/9min mi.
Updated for correct time.... so I did get just baaaarely under 2hrs. I almost forgot... The Giant "Finish" sign made me want to cry when it came into view, sort of, it seamed so far away.

| | still felt a little sore from saturday but figured it would be good to go anyways, and I did loosen up a lot so I'm glad I went. |
| | another pretty fun run, had some hills in today's run that worked my legs pretty well. |
| | 1.5 mo off and I'm hurting now... boooo |
| | Chris and I ran from my house, we took off at a relatively good clip as we were both feeling pretty good but slowed down after about 1.5mi. |
| |
Needed to relax... and I went running... maybe I should say "I needed to distract myself"... that works.
|
| | had to retake the pt test for my police application as the old one was 6mo old. | |
| | morning: 2.8 @ sloooooow pace |
| | evening = 4.6, slow and still painful from saturday's run in w/Cross Fit. |
| | Lunch: 2.8, Hurt much less than last night. |
| | morning: Part of the Crossfit workout today was 800m sprints X 5... well I woke up late so I only got 3 done. |
| | Lunch: 2.7 The snow on some portions of the run was packed enough but still soft enough that it was like running in sand.... which meant I almost died.
|
| | Lunch: 2.0... COOOOOOLD If anybody looks at this and has a suggestion... I'm fine as far as my body, it's my big toes that were freezing. | |
| | Morning: Crossfit was 5k, Did it on the treadmill because it's stinkin cold outside at 5am. Not sure if I'm going to do a lunch run because I will be playing basketball tonight and my legs aren't feeling too hot.
|
| | Lunch: 2.0 Felt much better despite feeling a little colder and my right hamstring is really tight.
|
| | 30min on the eliptical plus gym in the morning... no running though. |
| | morning: Had time left over after Cross Fit this morning so I ran 2.1 on the treadmill. |
| | Morning: 1.5mi to the gym 20min workout and 1.5mi back |
